A New Direction for "Everyday"

I've decided to go a different direction with my "everyday" theme. No big surprise there, but this is it, I'm committed and inspired! I'm feeling drawn to larger-than-life still life, especially after the Kitchen Sink experiment. Not to mention, I do appreciate the sideways looks I get when I tell people I'm painting toilet paper.

Wayne Thiebaud's work has always been an inspiration to me. If you've ever seen a painter of his in person, his application of paint is so juicy and deliberate. This one (above) is pretty thickly applied, although it's difficult to tell in the digital image. But my goal is to get really juicy. I'm loving the lost edges in this one too... something I want to push further.
