This next project is an especially special painting. They're all special, but here's the story...
Those who live in this area will remember, and some know more personally, the tragic motorcycle accident several weeks ago that took the lives of five of six riders. The lone survivor is a young woman who lost her fiance, mother, step-father, and their two close friends. She worked with my husband.
She has a German Shepherd who happens to be best friends with her friend's husky. My husband wanted to give her a painting while she was in in-patient rehab and away from her dog. She has thankfully recovered well enough to be at home much sooner than originally expected. I'm still going to paint them for her.
Here's the initial sketch on unstretched canvas. I ran out of quality pre-stretched, so I'll be stretching it myself after it's finished.
