Attention Dog Lovers…

The Dogs of Lancaster Project!

or download a flyer in PDF format.

I'm collecting photos of YOUR dogs. Over the next 6 months, I’ll be using the photos as reference material to create original paintings. The project will culminate in a show and artist’s reception.

 F.A.Q.’s

What kinds of photos are you looking for?

I’m looking for FUN photos that really express your dog’s personality. Close ups are great, but any picture that you adore will work.  Of course, the higher the quality, the better.

How and when can I submit my photo?

When:    I will be collecting photos throughout the project; but photos submitted after September 30, 2010, will most likely not be used. Of course, the sooner you can get your photo(s) to me, the better! Feel free to take some time to capture a few really great images of your dog.

How:      Email your photos to me at stacy@stacycaldwellart.com
Please also include the following information in your email:

·       Your name

·       Your dog’s name

·       Address and phone number

·       Preferred email address

·       Painting size preference (see purchase information below… there is NO OBLIGATION to buy)

·       Also, feel free to include any stories or fun facts about your dog!

Can I submit more than one photo?

Yes, you may definitely submit more than one photo, but keep in mind that a few really good high quality shots will be much easier for me to process than sending 10 or 20 random, fuzzy photos.

How will submitted photos be selected and used for paintings?

Selection of photos to be used as references will be completely at my discretion for the purposes of the show. I will be experimenting with different styles, and the final painting may look nothing like what you expected! Depending on how many responses I receive, I may not be able to include everyone.

What if I don’t live in the Lancaster area?

I would still love to see your dog, and if I love the photo, I may still use it! I may need to change the title of the show to “The Dogs of Lancaster… and Beyond,” depending on how the project goes.

Will I be able to purchase a painting of my dog?

Yes, but if I paint your dog, you are under absolutely no obligation to purchase the painting. Prices are based on size, and all paintings will be painted on cradled board or gallery-wrapped canvas so that framing will not be necessary.

                6” x 6”                  $100 (series of 4, $300)

                8” x 10”                 $125

                11” x 14”                $175

                12” x 12”                $200

                12” x 16”               $250

                16” x 16”               $275

                16” x 20”               $300

                20” x 20”              $350

                20” x 24”              $400

                24” x 36”              $450

If I decide to purchase a painting, when will it be available?

Paintings will remain hanging at Isaac’s through the month of December and will be available when the installation is taken down at the end of the month.

If I don’t have a dog or a photo to submit, can I still help with the project?

Yes! If you have an idea of how you would like to help, please contact me. You can help advertise and promote the project, donate food or drinks for the December 3 reception, make a donation in full to the Humane League… any ideas are welcome.

Oh and... who is Stacy Caldwell, anyway?

I'm a painter working mostly in oils and acrylics. I work out of my home in Landisville, PA. I’m also a staff member and art student at Millersville University. You can learn more by visiting my bio page.
