These water-based paintings are created on paper, cardboard scraps, and in sketchbooks. They began as a way to go outside and paint during my lunchbreaks when I worked full-time in an office. I no longer work in an office, but painting this way still feels like taking a break. Painting on impermanent, invaluable surfaces frees me from the pressure of needing to make a “good” painting.
